Hi, For those of you attending AMS/SMT/SEM in New Orleans this year, I recommend attending the Grad Education Committee reception. It's a great opportunity to meet professors from the schools you're applying to. Here's the official info: The Graduate Education Committee will be hosting an open reception for prospective graduate students on Friday, November 2, 5:00-6:30pm, in the Sheraton Grand Ballroom B. The goal of this reception is to establish a single venue where prospective graduate students can meet representatives of graduate programs across the country and get a clearer idea of their wide options. Representatives of graduate programs will briefly introduce their programs and there will be an opportunity to meet individually with them. Refreshments will be served.
