  1. Congrats on your interview! And congratulations to everyone who has a spot for next fall. I've been rejected from Berkeley and have yet to hear from UCLA, USC, UW-Madison and University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. I also applied to EdD programs and got reject from USC's EdD program. Best of luck to everyone!
  2. Sorry. Another email? When was it sent? When did you apply?
  3. May I asked when you applied? I'm waiting to hear back too. I called the admin assistant and she said we would hear back between now and next week which is different from hearing back by the end of this week like many have posted, hmmm...? I'm a nervous wreck! I really don't want that kiss of death email but I'd like to know. If it means I will get in but I have to wait until next week to hear back that's fine too. Haha but the wait and anticipation is killing me. Oh gosh, I'm being so dramatic. I can't wait to get some decent sleep! I'm sorry for the people who got rejections but congrats to those who got in. I'm envious! Good luck to those still waiting...
  4. I'm curious for the folks who got a rejection letter has it all been through email?
  5. @lber, I'm really sorry to hear that. It's tough to hear rejection because you've worked so hard on the admissions process. However, you got into USC which is an amazing program. This wait is torture! Best of luck to everyone. Fingers crossed....
  6. Fair or not, if it's required, I would like to believe that they have been doing this for a long time and UCLA knows what's best for their students.... I doubt there have been people who have survived the program without having a car otherwise why would they require it? I am sure they are making it easier for the students. My friend who is a 2nd year at UCLA makes a good point. If a job required you to have a car and you didn't have one...would you apply? If you do apply you would do your best to get a car if you really wanted the job... You can always get a moped...
  7. Agree. Maybe you'll be able to manage during your first year but during your second year more than likely you'll be traveling a ton unless for some reason you've been touched by an angel and your fieldwork assignment is a bus ride from your place or class...And you don't need to leave or do house/ site visits. Yes, LA has a public trans system and people do rely on it for a living but considering traffic and the areas it serves the public trans system is disappointedly limited. Also keeping in mind, that you might be able to work with the field coordinator with not having a car but also it'll be difficult to work with that because it could be easier to work with someone who does already have a car. You have to remember that in LA you will be competing for internships with not only other cohorts in your program but other students in other schools. (ie CSULA, CSULB, CSUDH, CSUF and USC...and they have a crap ton of students) So i don't think you'll have the luxury of picking and choosing...it is free work after all and you need them more than they need you.
  8. I just got an acceptance letter via email from USC. I applied Nov. 15th. Good luck to everyone.
  9. I am applying to UCLA, CSULB, CSULA and USC. I just sent in my application for USC. Good luck to you all.
