    Fall 2016 MFA

hey yal, would someone on MFA draft please let me know if fiction/poetry acceptances have been reported for UCSD or University of Arizona? I see fiction/poetry waitlists and rejections for UA and rejections for UCSD and nothing else. Thanks for any help!

    Fall 2015 MFA

Hi guys, this question is for those of you in the Facebook group for the MFA Draft. Has anyone in that Facebook group reported getting admitted to Brooklyn College's program for fiction? (If I were on Facebook, I would check for myself, but I'm not.) I see on gradcafe's results page that there have been some notifications for wait-lists, but apparently no admits. I'd like to assume at this point that I didn't get in, for my peace of mind's sake and to, you know, get on with my life. And I would assume this, and do this, if it weren't for the line in this email from Brooklyn's admissions assistant, which I received today: "Our admissions process is currently ongoing. We aim to notify applicants by late March or early April." So yeah, if anybody on Facebook has heard anything, I'd appreciate the tip. Thank you.

    brown isn't in boston.
  5. Has anybody had any success contacting LSU to find out the length of the wait-list and/or their position on the list? I've emailed, but no response, called, but no answer. Think I'll sit on my hands for now, but thanks for any insight if you have it...
  6. Congrats on getting into Columbia. I got in two years ago for fiction, and after anxiously waiting to hear about what sort of funding i could get, heard back a month later (on apr 4). I was informed by email they were able to offer me 10k. I knew that sometimes more funding becomes available when people turn down their offers, and so I wrote an email back asking if they could offer for assistance. No such luck. I didn't go to Columbia. Like you, I felt (and still do) grateful and thrilled to have "gotten in" to Columbia...the acceptance alone gave me a confidence boost and the courage to quit my lousy office job and write full time. I don't regret not going to the school because the debt would have been huge, and I have been able to grow as a writer regardless (without the huge price tag). Even so....not going was an awfully hard decision to make, one I wish none of us had to make. I hope that you won't be put in that position. Good luck!
