  1. Computer programming books aren't worth keeping with the exception of C++ books because the standard changes slowly, or a book heavy on theory. Math and physical science books for upper division courses should always be kept.
  2. An episode of Masters of Horror was about a physics grad student. Dreams in the Witch House. Warning: it's disturbing. In Jurassic Park, I believe Ellie (Laura Dern) was a grad student in the book, I don't think the movie said. Amy Wong on Futurama is a physics grad student. http://futurama.wikia.com/wiki/Amy_Wong Prince of Darkness, a John Carpenter horror film, is about grad students of diverse fields spending a night in a scary dilapidated building to study a thing-in-a-box. Nobel Son
  3. Definitely switch. Let your current institution know you are transferring because B is a much better fit.
  4. I knew a few grad students who lived in Grove City, so it's doable. I suggest North and West campus areas for safety. All the campus-area crime is usually in the South and East campus areas. Stay West of High Street and North of Lane and you'll probably be fine. Stay West of the Olentangy River and you're well away from the bad areas of campus. Well, where would you live while looking for apartments? A hotel? www.padmapper.com is a good site for finding apartments, I recommend securing a place before late July. May/June is probably the best time, lots of places will free up.
