So I'm a little bit frustrated because I was accepted on Monday and emailed them immediately asking if there was an open house or admitted students day. No one ever emailed me back, and I literally just found out about the event this morning by reading this forum. Were other people notified about the open house?

Anyone have thoughts on my chances having applied March 5, with a March 20 deadline? I didn't realize that the admission was rolling, so I'm not sure if I've screwed myself over on this one. Also, any idea on when I will find out about the decision? The website says up to 3 months?? Should I email them at the end of March, or now for that matter?

Worst Case Scenario: "She had to retake Intro Stat and Calc II? Why would she even bother applying to quant programs? Lols." Best Case: "She must have really wanted to be an Econ major if she suffered through Stat and Calc II twice. Give her all the funding!" But seriously, my GPA isn't great, so the only thing holding it up is that I went to a top 5 public school. I'm freakin' out.

Thanks for the advice! I guess the only reason I'm holding on is that I have one employer rec and the other 2 are in my field. If I lose this guy, I'll only be able to have in my field. My dept was huge and it was difficult to get to know professors (and many of my best classes were taught by PhD candidates). So my question now is, do I ask someone from my second major, or another employer?

My recommendations from one professor are now between 5-10 days late. I've emailed several reminders (2 personal emails and 3 reminders from the app website). This professor is also participating in a study abroad program, so I can't stop by his office to remind him. I've emailed his department to find out if he has another email address to use, but he does not. So now my question is, how long do I wait, and how many reminders do I send, before I ask someone new? Help!

So I have a statement of motivation that must be no more than 300 words! To me that seems very short, and I'm struggling to write something meaningful and avoid being perfunctory. Would anyone be willing to read it and provide some feedback?

Thanks so much guys! My big concern is that he will be on "Semester at Sea" so I don't really know where to send the thank you note! The other two are local, so I will be treating them to coffee and a note.

I have a letter writer who is out of the country leading a study abroad program. Is it appropriate to send only an email thanking him, or should I send him a hand written one to read when he gets back?

My LOR writer is now working for a think tank as a senior fellow, but I met her when she was a lecturer at my Univeristy. Should I user her current title, or the title she had when I knew her? Many of the applications require me to list a title. Thanks!
