  1. Like most of you here I am SUPER EXCITED to start my masters program this fall for SLP!!! It's taken me a lot of work and dedication to get here and I want to make sure to maximize my time spent this upcoming two years. With that said I am also so so so nervous about this new chapter in my life. Hoping to hear from some current or past grad students on what they wish they knew before starting classes? Any tips? Advice? Words of wisdom? I would love to know <3
  2. I've been a SLPA for a year now and i think I learned more in this year than I did in my whole undergrad education. I completely recommend it, if you're thinking about a bridge to get you to a master's degree. I think my experience is what got me into the grad program I'm going to going to in the fall.
  3. I just finished a year of SLPA work and did not get into any of the above schools....but my circumstance might be different, my GPA was not the highest.
  4. I probably have a million lol but my most important ones I guess are the following: 1. What areas are safe? and is there really a part of town I should avoid when looking at apartments? I'm currently looking at the crescent lofts on 4th street. 2. Could I get by with public transportation? 3. What is there to do in Davenport? Thank you for replying to me :]]] ing to me :]
  5. Just got into the speech masters program. Can anyone tell me about the area???
  6. Oh wow you should private message me. There's so much to figure out about moving to a new state and I don't even know where to begin!!! Lolol
  7. Just got accepted to St Ambrose University!!! I'm sooo over the moon excited about it, I will be moving from California. Any one else coming from out of state?
  8. The school I got waitlisted at said they'd let me know if I didn't get in by August but not when if I do get in.
  9. I got waitlisted at ENMU which frankly I'm pretty excited about because I didn't think I'd get in, so at least it wasn't a flat out no :] But I was pretty upfront about my weakness' however I made sure to really talk about how I want to fix them. I said I could be stubborn, lack confidence sometimes, and project my own self expectations on to others, which doesn't sound all too flattering but they were honest. And I think thats what they were looking for, honesty. As far as the island essay, oh man, that was hard. I must have written and re-written it a million times and at the end I still feel like I couldn't express everything I would have done in that character limit. But it was fun, I really had to use my critical thinking skills and it was a nice difference from all the other essays I had to write for schools.
  10. I also had a question about the last 60 units, I already graduated with my BA in comm. disorders but I took some classes after my graduation at a local community college, do those count? Or is it just the last 60 of your undergrad degree?
