Hello,
I'm currently in my senior year of obtaining my BA in Instrumental Music Education, but over the past year, I have been drawn to the study of cognition and perception. As a life-long musician, I would never want to give that up. So I began to experiment with combining music and cognition and I found that I am most interested in the way music stimulates our brains and affects our behaviors and emotions based on the type of music we listen to. Since my earlier college years, I have been heavily interested in music theory, so I would like to incorporate the theoretical aspect to cognitive side of it as well. I have looked online for all kinds of grad schools in California that would have the kind of program that I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find one specific enough. So I'm curious to know if I'm missing any programs or if anyone has found one that is geared towards what I'm interested in? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
