  1. Hello fellow worriers, I am applying as a second round applicant in CSCD programs. I have decided on a path in Audiology, but I would like some peer support and comments. I have a GRE of 149/149/4.5, 3.7 undergrad GPA in Early Childhood Education, 3.7 GPA in FSU's online bride program for CSCD, worked as an SLPA in a private sector, shadowed an Audiologist, and I am currently working as an Elementary Language Arts teacher. I am still shadowing SLPs and Audiologists for more hours, and I am retaking the GRE. I also completed a capstone project for my Undergraduate degree on the hearing impaired cultures and development through the years accompanied by society's acceptance. What do I need to do to be ridiculously competitive and attractive for Audiology? Thank you, and I hope you're finding peace on your search as well.
  2. I toured it and LOOOOOVE it. It has an amazing clinic with state of the art equipment, wonderful and intelligent faculty with VERY big names. It's a fantastic choice.
  3. I have good faith for you and NOVA. I live in Florida, and you look highly competitive for it.
  4. Yes! I actually just met someone YESTERDAY (great timing) who mentioned a back road into Behavior Analyst which is amazing and in dire need of!
  5. @dettimda and yes, I would love to study my ass off, but when I work over 50 hours a week on top of my classes, it's not so easy. Believe me, I'm trying.
  6. Yes, I saw that; however, it was "recommended." I know people who work for the program and are affiliated with the grad app process who said that they are looking to get rid of the GRE totally much like other schools. I was moreso asking if anyone actually got accepted with lower than 150, 150.
  7. You are SO on it. I'm glad you have the same mindset. We will get through this!
  8. I am sort of in a similar boat, friend. I have a 149, 149 EVEN... I cried when the screen flashed the score... And I scored a 4.5 AW. I am working to get into FSU, but I am just as terrified. You sound SO COMPETITIVE THOUGH... BRIGHT SIDE I heard from very reliable sources that universities are beginning to look past the GRE due to its irrelevance and how it shouldn't be a determining factor like it is. I am sending positive thoughts YOUR WAY. Pray, pray, pray! God has a plan, friend. I wish you the best.
  9. That sounds like a very good idea! Schools LOVE to know that you've taken an interest, and you're not JUST applying because it's a good school. Where are you applying?
  10. So I JUST signed up! Thank you for starting this page! I need some advice and reassurance! 1. I am in my prerequisite program for SLP. I graduated from my undergrad with a 3.7 overall, 3.7 (last 60 as well) in Early Childhood Education 2. Played two collegiate sports 3. Gained over 300+ hours of working with students between preschool and third grade 4. Full-time employee of a VPK (pre-school) 5. Director of a developmental youth soccer program 6. Pioneered a research program in my undergraduate involving hearing impaired individuals and their social, educational, personal hurdles they face and overcome which opened up a new gate for fellow ECE undergrads at my previous institution 7. Assisted in a fine/gross motor developmental program at a gym for toddlers MY BIG ISSUE THAT KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT... My GRE. V:149, Q:149, AW 4.5 **Will these scores keep me out of FSU? FSU has been my dream for YEARS. Now, my future hubby works there in athletics and my sister attends in the Honors program. Does that have any bearing on admissions? Thank you for hearing my rant! Best of luck to ALL. ____________________________________________________ Stats: Undergrad: Malone University, Canton, OH, Current GPA: 3.83 Pre-req program through FSU, GRE: 149v, 149q, 4.5AW Applying: FSU (FL), UF (FL), SHU (NJ), JU (FL), UCF (FL) Accepted: (n/a) Denied: (n/a) Waitlist: (n/a)
