  1. Is there a group for university of redlands???
  2. Thank you so much! I decided to pursue my path as a speech-language pathologist at University of Redlands since I want to serve more culturally and linguistically diverse population. It is nice to hear that they have supportive atmosphere and are known as producing nice SLPs! It was nice to hear such good things from you! it makes me feel a lot better
  3. Thank you so much for your info! Can I ask you in which state you worked? (Since Syracuse is in NY and Redlands is in CA, I am curious!) And as a california resident, have you heard anything on redlands?
  4. I just got off the waitlist from Syracuse, so I am not considering between U of redlands in Cali(I already paid my deposit here) and Syracuse. Just to introduce myself, I am interested in serving bilinguals, and dysphagia patients, and also thinking about pursuing ph.D in the future(Not 100% decided yet but positive about it) I finished my undergrad in a midwest, therefore, both schools require relocation! Pros of Syracuse: - Scholarships. I was offered a scholarship, but since Syracuse is a bit more expensive, the tuition in total has no big difference with U of redlands(Or, it may cost little more!) But I still thought it is a pro. - Research focus. I am interested in pursuing Ph.D.(but not decided yet!), therefore, a thesis option and having various labs are appealing to me. I dont know whether they do accepts Ph.D. students from their master's program, but still, I heard they are very focused on research. - On-campus clinic. I heard they have a quiet big on-campus clinic. And I heard that I can gain experience with dysphagia and Parkinson's disease patients, which meets my interests! Cons of Syracuse: - Disorganization and care?!. I am not sure about this matter, but I've heard that the program is not organized in a clinic way and members(faculties and students) are not connected well. Since I have never been to school, I am not sure whether this is true or not, still, it makes me worried since I am sort of dependent person who needs mentor and friends to be with and discuss with. - Location. I did my undergrad in a very cold area, therefore, I dont know whether I would still want snow in my grad school life But I heard syracuse has comparably low costs for living, therefore, I think that can be a pro also! Pros of Redlands: - Warm and caring atmosphere. from the what I experienced from campus visit and what I heard from friends, it seems like Redlands have very close relationship between faculties and students. - On- campus clinic. Redlands also have on-campus clinic, but I think the size is bit smaller than a syracuse. I dont know whether this can be cons compared to Syracuse, but I just regarded it as cons since they still HAVE it. -Location. as all knows, Cali has nice weather. Also, since I have huge interest in bilingual treatment(especially Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish) I think I would have more opportunity to meet those populations as my patients(this is what I heard. If I am wrong, please let me know!) Cons of Redlands: - An absence of research experience. I heard they do allow students to participates research projects of faculties, however, they do not have thesis option for students. I am worried if this will prevent me from pursuing ph.D in the future when I wish. Since I want both plans(as a clinician and researcher) to be opened, this is also a concern for me. - No scholarships. - low ranking. I didnt care about the rankings when I applied, but since I have to choose between these two, I thought ranking can also be a factor. (Syracuse: 30-ish vs Redlands: 150-ish) Thank you all for reading and comments!! I hope you all make the best decision ever
  5. Has anyone got interview invitation from new york medical college and syracuse university? Any comments will be appreciated
  6. Hello future SLPs! I have 2 GRE scores, V154/Q163/W4.0 and V156/Q159/W4.0 Since I can submit only one of those, I am not sure which i should submit. any suggestions please?
  7. https://portal.csdcas.org/csdcasHelpPages/instructions-and-faq/academic-history/coursework/index.html Sadly, that is true. I retook 3 courses, and it definitely lowered my GPA. They also do not count A+ when they calculate GPA.
  8. Can I ask you about how you contacted and asked for letter writers to rewrite LORs? I am waitlisted at 2 schools(rejected from all other schools), and thinking about preparing for next round. However, since I have graduated, I have no idea about how to contact and keep the relationship with letter writers.
  9. Has anyone on the waitlist heard back from the school, especially Redlands and CSULB?
  10. Thanks! Hope you have made a right decision for you!
  11. If you dont mind, can you tell me by what time do you have to accept the offer please?
  12. I just checked my admission status page, but it still says my application is under the review... I can see that I am rejected, but still, I want official rejection!
  13. Just curious, can I take PRAXIS exam and get a CCC license after graduating from 'candidate' status school? Also, does anyone know how state license work? like process which has to be done in order to work in a state you are from when you go go out-of-state graduate schools.
  14. Anyone got email from Redlands today? Acceptances, rejections, or waitlists? I thought I would be able to hear from them(even rejection) today since they started sending out acceptances yesterday, not havent got any email so far... Wondering what is their plan
  15. Still waiting for email... Seems like there are people who got acceptance, but no waitlists or rejections so far.. Just wanna hear any results from them! Will they send out all the results by today? or do we need to wait until the end of this week? Seems like they usually send out all the results on a same day but maybe it is different this year?!
