  1. Anyone want to claim the CUNY acceptance on the results page? And, if possible, provide some more info on the email?
  2. Yeah you're probably right! It just seems a little off that just one would come out, considering the patterns from previous years.
  3. I'm still waiting on Coumbia and NYU. I can only assume the one NYU acceptance on the results page is a mistake (or a complete anomaly).
  4. Yeah, but you need to search for it as New York University, as opposed to NYU. Fingers crossed some results come out soon!
  5. I'm waiting on NYU as well. There has been one confirmation on the results page, but nothing else. Which seems strange.
  6. Anyone want to claim the NYU English result? It seems strange that only one has gone out (alternatively, that only one has been reported). Anyone else heard anything?
  7. Hi all, It seems to be a very common thing to contact POIs in regards to STEM subjects, and things like sociology, psychology, etc. But I was wondering if people think it is a good idea for English? In the UK, this is pretty much the done thing (as you work with one supervisor throughout the three years), but I understand the system is different in the states and you won't necessarily be working with anyone specific in the first few years before building your exams committee. What are people's advice on this subject? Worth emailing in to POIs for English lit, or not worth the time?
  8. Thanks for the responses, everyone! C m, that's what I figured. Not everyone will have uploaded, but it was interesting to note, I think. And thissiteispoison, I'm just putting it out of my mind. The school's graduate info page says that an interview isn't necessary, so it suggests to me that they are just interview a select number of people. Though I'm not sure whether or not that is good news or bad!
  9. Hmm, what's weird is that last year (according to the results search) they didn't offer any interviews at all :/
  10. Should I be concerned that some people are being offered interviews for a program and I haven't heard anything? Is it worth mentally preparing to now not be accepted by that program?
  11. I've applied to Columbia, NYU, Chicago, Brown, and UPenn. I'd be over the moon to go to any of them, so fingers crossed for any, basically!
  12. I'm waiting to hear back from my 5 PhD applications, though hopefully some news should start coming through in the next few weeks. I'm up in York doing my MA at the moment. And believe me, it's so nice just to realise someone else has actually applied! I've not been able to find any groups of applicants anywhere. And massive congratulations on the acceptance, by the way
  13. Good luck to us indeed! I posted this up originally because it seemed that a lot of US applicants were hearing back, alongside the ever encroaching interview period. But I finally snapped today and emailed them, asking when we were supposed to be hearing back (/if I'd already been rejected and just didn't know about it yet!) They told me within two weeks of today, everyone will have been told, so good luck to us indeed! Where are you applying from/to?
  14. I couldn't comment on that, as the UK system is very different. Here you just complete the application form on your own, and wait to see if you get an interview. It is also completely separate from your university applications, which means (in rare instances) it is possible to get a Fulbright scholarship without winning a university place (at which point you then lose your fulbright funding as well).
