  1. I finally got a call today, after I had given up hope! I will see you in the fall!
  2. Congratulations! Everyone I talk too thinks so highly of Dayton! If I don't get in maybe you can give me some tips for next cycle!
  3. Thanks BA for the response. At this point even getting a rejection would be satisfying, this process lasts too long and I want to move on. I wish it didn't have to be so competitive in Theology. So many people with so many hopes. Best of luck to you, maybe we will all (CF as well) be classmates if the stars come into alignment. I am glad there is no interviews, I don't think I can take another round of this. I enjoyed the reading and the writing, but not the editing and waiting in the application process.....
  4. I haven't got word back yet but also notice no one else has. I don't see any confirmed interviews in past years and wonder if they even do interviews. I also notice they don't carry many students. Wonder how many they admit each year?
  5. This is my first year applying and with most of my schools sending out acceptances and interviews already it looks like I didn't get in. I am wondering about the benefit and pragmatics of contacting them to find out if there are certain things I could do to make myself "admittable" in future years. What is the best way to approach this? Should you wait until you get a rejection? Is there a reason not to do it? Any thoughts?
  6. Maybe your post already addressed this, but I am wondering in cases where you are know there are interviews, if you can assume that you are not going to be accepted if you weren't invited to the interview weekend. I am assuming if they have, say 5 open spots, they bring in 10 people to interview. So, the only conceivable way that you would get in is if somehow all 10 people decided to go somewhere else. Otherwise I don't see how you could get in if you are not asked to interview by schools that do interviews?
  7. Hello, I scheduled a visit at the school I am most interested in- in a few weeks. To my surprise, they have me meeting with four professors for almost 30 minutes each. Of course, I want to put my best foot forward, but am unsure of a few things. 1) Should I just wear dress pants and a button up shirt, or also a tie, or a jacket or what? 2) What should I expect they want to hear from me about? Obviously what I want to research, but I wonder what else? 3) I wonder how candid to be with the professors about relevant things (life experience, the apparent culture and politics of a program. Should I hold back, so as not to accidentally present an idea they don't like or spill all of my academic and ideological dispositions (of course in a constructive way relating to my topic, not just babbling). Thanks!
