I'll almost certainly be at UCLA, though I'm sort of toying with some waitlist options. I was wildly surprised at how much I loved the city of LA (as a lifetime resident of the Northeast) and really liked how supportive the faculty was of my proposed research. The biggest hurdle in finalizing my decision has been my partner's options and coping with the idea of long distance (he's one of those rare folks who got into nearly every program he applied to with great funding). Wherever he ends up, I'm really excited about joining this sociocultural cohort!

I didn't have a formal interview, but I did attend an open house in January and had a chance to speak to various faculty one-on-one.

I can claim a Rutgers waitlist. Here's to hoping!

Congrats, faulty! I haven't been on here long, but I did my undergrad in the Valley as well. It's an awesome place to be.

Can someone speak to Brown's unspoken GRE cutoff as posted on the results page?

Hi! I'm a long-time lurker; I'm not the official admit, but was contacted by the department and asked to send my transcripts ASAP so that they could send their recommendation to the GSAS; my POIs were cc'd. Am hoping that this bodes well after lots of dread and disappointment, but at the same time, it adds another dimension which complicates my (angsty, pessimistic) decision to stick it out on the East Coast with my partner, who was admitted to numerous PhD programs (the tribulations of "two bodies," I suppose). Best of luck to us all--this community has been a great refuge despite my silence.
