  1. I am finishing up Ryerson right now and I really like it. It has been a challenging but great learning experience.
  2. Honestly, the reason many of my classmates and I did not apply is because the program is still young in the world of social work. This also makes it a bit disorganized. Secondly, most of us came from far and commuted. Thirdly, this was a gateway to the one year MSW in the city at the more known universities. Lastly, because they are so far away they often struggle to find good placements in areas outside Orillia for instance.
  3. good luck to everyone applying. I took the Lakehead HBSW in orillia if anyone has any questions and I currently in the 1 year MSW at Ryerson. I am shocked at how much I love Ryerson considering I was all UofT.
  4. That is not the case. After results, the forum always get quiet. The only bursary Lakehead has is the one for part-time students. They have another on in October area but other than that they don't really have money to be honest.
  5. Did u log into lakehead website and check your application status because last year that is where it showed up first.
  6. That is a great position you never know though applying next year because it is so competitive. Can't ypu defer your offer for 1 year. I kno uoft allows you. I am not sure of other school.
  7. It is not a jerk move. It is sometimes hard to decide especially when you are uncertain. I say accept both. The way i see it is they may not even move the waitlist until deposits are due anyways. I say do what is best for you. Life is like that sometimes. Do not jeopardize yourself because a few people on here are also being selfish by telling u it is a jerk move. Them telling you that is a jerk move.
  8. No uoft have a massive waitlist...i personally think it's terrible that they waitlist so many people.
  9. Usually once the rejections and waitlist go out means that all decisions are made. That is how i know it from previous years.
  10. Hi...from july to like the second week of august its monday to friday 8:30 to 4 pm..sometimes earlier sometimes later. Then september to like late november you have about a day or so free. You can start either 9 on some days and finish like 5 depending on which counseling class you take and if u take the elective in the fall rather than online during your placement. So for instance, your schedule can be mondays 9 to 2 or 9 to 5 if your counseling class is on that day. Then tuesday 9 to 2 if thats your counseling class. If counseling is on monday then tuesday 11 to 5pm. Then wednesday 9 to 2 or 11 to 2. Then Thursday 2 to 5pm or 11am to 5pm. So basically you have counselling twice a week (2 sections), research twice a week (1 section tuesdays and Thursdays 2 to 5), policy once a week (1 section 9 to 11) , community engagement twice a week (1 section 11 to 2) . I really hope this makes sense. I am trying to be as detail and i am using my phone. I also commutted from scarborough and it was no doubt strenuous but doable. It just takes a lot of commitment to wake up that early and drive. I say try to find buddies to commute with. Vaughan mills is a good mid point.
  11. Is this for this year or last year and when did uoft call you to tell you you are offered a spot?.
  12. It looks very much like you were accepted. Sometimes the system update before u hear anything.
  13. It is in waves. From my understanding there should be one more wave of acceptances then the waitlist/ rejection go out a week or so after.
