Count me in! I am also waiting for this... But since I've got a positive feedback from another program yesterday, luckily, I am kind of less freaked out now (but still thinking about Princeton, for sure). Finger crossed for us.

Thanks! I think you are right. I just had chance to talk to my current supervisor, she told me that at my home institute, such a phrase means the dept makes a list and send it to the graduate division, and she never experienced a grad dean not approving a file. So I guess, my first good news, although not 100% secure right now.

Hi everyone! I just got an email from one program's POI, he writes that I've been recommended for admission into grad program. Not 100% what "recommended for admission" means, does that stand for some kind of informal offer?

Hi all, A director affiliated with the program I applied for (I am quite sure she is not the grad committee, but works very close with them) just emailed me and asked for some additional writing pieces I have done in the past or working on right now. I've submitted my materials days ago, so I assume they already glanced through my official writing sample. I met and talked with this person during my application visit, but I am not so sure about this additional writing pieces request, has anyone ever encountered such case? I am kind of curious. Thanks!

Penn's East Asian department program director informed me about my admission in early Feb, but I stil haven't receive an offical document fron GSAS, any one in the same condition?

Hi everyone! I am currently a final year undergraduate major in Geography and Art History. I have already got admission from UPenn's East Asian Language and Civilization dept (major concentration on architectural history), and just got Bartlett's offer today. My prospective research interest in early 20th century architecture in China and Taiwan, and its a possible topic to explore at the Bartlett. However, since I might apply for PhD program in the future, I am not so sure about Bartlett's one year MA program. Any body have any idea for this program? I would be more than glad to hear your comments!

Kind of worrying about the same problem! I will not be able to arrive at Philly before the mid-Aug. I have also received my admission from Penn, but still waiting for NYU, Columbia etc. My potential supervisor at Penn is academically quite strong. So it is quite possible for me to choose Penn in the end... Still haven't make up my mind about Philly or New York...
