  1. Does anyone have any information/know of anyone who completed the Behavioural and Population Health PhD program at Brock University? It sounds like an interesting program. However, I'm a bit concerned because of Brock's iffy reputation if people would take me seriously if I got a PhD from there. Any thoughts?
  2. @COGSCI Sorry for the extremely delayed response - I completed a generalist MPH program
  3. I'm finishing up the final term of my MPH right now at an Ontario university. I was considering applying to a few public health PhD programs (i.e. Waterloo - Public Health and Health Systems; UofT - Social and Behavioural Health Sciences) but was wondering if it's even worth it because most public health jobs only require a MPH or its equivalency. So really the question I'm asking here is - what can you do with a Public Health PhD vs an MPH? Is anyone else considering doing a PhD in this field in Canada?
  4. I received a recommendation to the program on March 30th, and received my official offer on April 10th. Hopefully that timeline helps you !
  5. I ended up not accepting Queen's so a spot should be opening up for one of you on the waitlist I will be seeing whoever accepted MPH at McMaster in the Fall )
  6. I need your help! Is it better to enter a MPH program that's in its first year (McMaster) or one that's been around for longer (Queen's ) ? I live much close to Mac, so I'm leaning towards there so I won't have to spend money for rent for the exact same program, but at the same time I'm iffy about going there since I feel like it'll be unorganized/have a lot of kinks as it is its first year
  7. Has anyone heard anything new from Queen's MPH? I know the first round of acceptances had to respond by March 31st, I was wondering if they ended up sending out more acceptances since this date ?
  8. @S.M.014 and @Grad1515 keep me posted what Mac says !
  9. congrats @S.M.014 I got the same e-mail from McMaster MPH today as well. Do you or anyone else know how long it takes for the School of Graduate Studies to accept the department's recommendation? Also is there a possibility that they can reject you at this point, or is it pretty much assumed that you will be formally accepted ?
  10. Has anyone heard anything from guelph yet?
  11. For the schools that I have applied to have already began accepting (ie Waterloo, Queens, Lakehead), would the admissions committee at these schools be annoyed if I e-mail asking them if I'm on their wait-list (and if so what number), or should I just wait until the second round?
  12. hey @eo92 , congrats on your acceptance to queens!!! (I also applied to the program this year and it's my top choice) do you mind me asking what your average was, I want to see if I even have a chance for this upcoming sept also, is your acceptance conditional on maintaining a specific GPA average this semester? or do this semester's marks not count (if you are still in school)
