Hey there,
I'm thinking about my candidature to a Ph D degree in Economics, and have several Universities in mind.
For starters, I'm Mexican and studied a BA in Economics in one of the best programs available in my country. It gave me the chance to pursue a part of my studies in Toulouse, France. I was granted a full scholarship to do so. All is great so far, isn't it?
The problem here is I didn't perform as expected. In France I got a 10 (in a scale from 0 to 20), just the minimum in order to pass. That's more or less the equivalent for American "C".
On the other hand, in Mexico I got a 81 (in a scale from 0 to 100), which is Mexican for "B" or a 3.0 GPA.
I lived 2 years in France, and the program I was enrolled to was not "pure" Economics, it was "Economics and Society". I learned some law, demographics, sociology, economics, and so forth.
How would you deal with this situation if you were in my place?
Thanks a lot!
