  1. Yah that makes sense, U of A says they don't usually have their incoming class figured out until end of June. I know my bf was just accepted there, and they said not to expect further details until they've heard from everyone in late June. I imagine it's probably the same for most schools...
  2. Has anyone on the waitlist tried writing a letter of continued interest? Some people were talking about it in another thread, and I was wondering if it would be worth it or if it could harm your chances...
  3. Sorry I'm the same, I haven't heard from U of A or UBC
  4. My bf is waitlisted at U of A and got the email yesterday.
  5. As far as I can tell, they've only done the first round of acceptances...? But maybe they've called more people who just aren't on here, haha.
  6. I emailed U of A and UBC over the summer and got responses as to what I could do to improve my application. UBC said my references weren't strong, U of A said to improve GPA.
  7. Oh sorry, that was my rejection letter from last year. So far this year I haven't been accepted anywhere, so I'm going to see if UBC or U of A has any suggestions on how I can improve my application. If there isn't anything I can do, I'll probably apply to Australia or something...
  8. I wasn't accepted, and I know that in my rejection letter they said: Completeness of the application also was a factor in selection. Applicants who had multiple prerequisites in progress were disadvantaged when compared to those with completed preparatory coursework. When preparatory courses have been completed, the Admissions Committee can be more confident that the applicant has the basic knowledge necessary to succeed in our challenging training program.
  9. Yah I'm thinking they must not be done accepting people because my boyfriend has an excellent application (honours degree with great GPA, above 50th GRE scores, volunteering with 2 SLPs) and he hasn't heard anything yet from U of A. He's on the waitlist for Dalhousie and McGill.
  10. Weird. Yah 220 is a lot less than 400, haha. My boyfriend and I went to a mini-SLP convention in October and he says they said they had 300-400 applicants last year, but I'm wondering if they rounded up or something like that.
  11. Hey I was looking for that the other day! I didn't realize it was so old... And kind of outdated, it says U of A had 156 applicants, but they had closer to 400 applicants last year. Also, in case anyone's still waiting, I got a rejection email from McGill today
  12. lol wut. Hahaha. At least I can keep my hope alive for a little while longer! Congrats on being admitted to both! I was so sure I wanted SLP over Audi but then I shadowed an Audiologist and it was awesome. The audiologist I shadowed also initially started out in speech, but then decided that she didn't like doing the program planning and that stuff so she changed to Audiology.
  13. I don't really have high hopes for McGill. I think my best chances are UBC and Alberta... I bet McGill just has a list of acceptances that aren't really ordered in any particular way, so don't give up hope! Haha
