I had an interview for a PhD position in the last week of January and received an official offer via e-mail at the beginning of February. Maybe it depends on the supervisor when they send out acceptances, like in the MA application process? Hope everyone will receive good news soon!

Hi guys! I hope 2017 will be our year! I was wondering, what is your take on approaching prospective supervisors before applying? I hear mixed stories about this; some say it is crucial, while others have advised me not to do it. Would love to hear what you all think. Also, is anyone applying to UK/EU programs this year?

And in addition to that: since last year, they leave it up to the departments if they want to interview their candidates or not. Along with another handful of interns, I thought that I had been rejected since I hadn't been invited for an interview, but received an acceptance e-mail on April 4th.

The PhD application deadline was the 13th of January if I am not mistaken. However, often there are a few places in some of the Special Options MA programs left, after they have interviewed everyone. I would keep an eye on their website and/or inquire over e-mail.

I thought it was April 10th, but can't find the exact date anymore. Congrats on your interviews! What departments did you apply to? And are you a grad of undergrad student?

Has anyone heard yet? I applied for the Grad Summer Internship, but no news so far. It has been 3 (work)days past the two weeks mentioned in kaleidescopelove's post... I am so anxious - checking my e-mail every second. Please post if you have heard something.
