  1. SUNY Plattsburgh class of 2018: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1604505219875151/
  2. Got my third acceptance today! I was notified via email from Governors State University, earlier today. I'm absolutely blown-away. Congratulations to all of those who have been accepted, and hang in there to those who have not been (yet).
  3. Through an e-mail notifying me of the interview. It had instructions to follow the link provided and choose a time slot on the poll. Double check your e-mail, but it's possible they changed the format.
  4. I had my phone interview on 2/22. At that time, I was told that decisions would be received by the first or second week of March. Due to the number of applications and interviews they could easily be running behind. You did the doodle poll to set up an interview already, correct?
  5. @cosmicmorgan The interview at Governors went well! They were incredibly friendly. A few scenario type questions that they posed were kind of difficult to answer. I was impressed with the grad students, faculty, and facilities. It is in a way more rural area than I expected though.
  6. I received interview notifications from Syracuse University (phone) & Governors State University today! Like @cosmicmorgan, I'd love to hear more about Governors.
  7. It certainly does not say anywhere that we will have an easier time, and I really would not want that either. I have heard from many students and even some faculty that it adds diversity in a field starved of males, but I pretend like it has no bearing on getting accepted. If I earn it, great. The girls in my program joke that I am a shoo-in, but I have known quality male candidates that did not get in. Basically, do not bank on your gender getting you in. However, in reality it may give us a slight advantage if we were comparable to another candidate in every other way, aside from gender, to get in.
  8. The number of schools you are applying to seems fair enough. I have been advised to shoot between 5 and 7 for monetary and sanity reasons. I too am male, but I do not believe it will benefit us too much, aside from adding a bit of diversity. We still need comparably competitive scores and well-rounded experiences to be eligible. I am in a similar boat quantitatively (with a particularly worrying sophomore year that I briefly address in my statement letter), as you are. I am fairly certain our scores will not stand out to any admissions boards, although they should not raise red flags either. Simply, the competitiveness of our major is such that we appear very mediocre for scores. The trick then, is to be adamant about your subjective qualities and uniqueness that you will offer the programs you have chosen to apply to. Also, retaking the GRE definitely will not hurt. On my second attempt my AW score went from 3.0(15th%) to 5.0(93rd%), Q 148(32nd%) to 150(40th%), and V staying at 155(67th%). Simply reading tips about the AW and studying certain specific problems in the quantitative section got me some much needed points, so it might work for you too. Best of luck!
  9. https://csdcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login It should work. I'm applying for Fall '16 and started working on the common app when I opened on 9/17. Good luck!
  10. I've wondered the same thing, and so far I have noticed a disparity in statistics between a number of official school websites and their respective scores as reported on the ASHA Edfind pages. I would say that it is better to believe the school's website.
