  1. That might be out of the question, I don't want to rush them and I want to leave a good impression on them for the future. I might have screwed myself out of funding this year.
  2. 1. Why did you choose the program you're going to? What really sold it for you? Howard University! It was my first choice, and I chose it because of it's history, the great professors, the location, and because it offered the 3-year out of major track for SLP. 2. How many schools did you apply to? I applied to two, GW and Howard. I got waitlisted off of GW, and they asked me if I wanted to stay on the waitlist but I deferred. if I was anywhere on a short-list I hope that helped someone else get in!
  3. Hello everyone! I got into one of the grad SLP programs of my choice a few months back, but now the issue of funding has arrived. They told me I can apply for funding this year, but I would need three letters of recommendation, and it's due in about a week. I was wondering do these all need to be academic professors? Or can I use my current employers (I work at a non-profit at the moment) and have three of my supervisors (2 directors and 1 manager) write this letter? I'm also taking two online courses which are 100 level, can I use them too? Thanks!
  4. Thanks guys! I appreciate the help! I think I'm going to focus on courses, and maybe finding an internship if I think I can handle it. I'm too late to start this semester's leveling courses, so I 'm going to try to do some research first if possible at all. Trying to get that 4.0 GPA for sure.
  5. @Puffer Fish Hey! Good luck to you too! My top choice is probably Howard. I really like the campus and the history there.
  6. Oh wow, so glad I found this thread. I never even heard of CSDCAS. I'm applying to -Howard -UDC -UMD -George Washington
  7. Hi everyone! I was hoping to get some advice in regards to what I can do to improve my chances of getting in to a SLP program. I majored in Linguistics, where I did a semester of research for a joint Psychology/Linguistics lab. I have a 3.48 GPA, and my GRE scores are 164 verbal/ 155 quant. (I'm also a veteran, does that factor in at all?) I'm strongly considering applying to either the online SLP undergrad programs at Eastern New Mexico University or Utah State University. I would like to study SLP at Howard, Maryland, or George Washington. My questions are -Should I retake the GREs? -Should I apply for programs that would allow me to finish the SLP undergrad courses, or should I try to finish them before I get into a program? -Should I try to find a way to do research? Thanks!
