Hi everyone! I am a second year MA student in TEFL (Teaching English). I am planning to apply to the Linguistics program of a number of universities (either MA or PhD) in the US. All of the universities that I want to apply to require writing samples. The problem is that I don't know what the structure of this writing sample should be. In our country, we usually write proposals for different courses instead of a term paper. Is a literature review OK?? Also, should this writing sample be related to the concentration that I'd like to have in linguistics or can it be about my current major which is English language teaching (for example one of the lit reviews that I have written for one of my courses)? Please helppp!
