  1. Has anyone heard from any of specializations in this department? My application just went to complete last week, and interviews are supposed to be Friday. The website says that notifications of interviews were supposed to happen 2 weeks ago, but when I emailed 2 weeks ago, they said 1-2 weeks until interview invites go out. I'm wondering if maybe they moved the interviews for Masters? I don't want to email them again, but I hate that my application is just sitting "complete" instead of telling me something of use.
  2. UT's invites for my program will go out this week (according to the graduate coordinator) and the interview day listed on their website is this Friday. So… I'm just staying flexible and not making plans in the hopes that I have to fly to Austin this weekend!
  3. When I was applying to undergrad, I already sent in my deposit to one school before I got to visit. When I visited, I hated the atmosphere of the school and town so much that I booked another plane trip to the other school to visit, loved the other school, and paid a second deposit there.. I'm a big believer in atmosphere of a school/department/town contributing to happiness and would definitely want to see it before I decided to move across country to go there.
  4. There's been a few PhD people posting on the results page. No one from Masters that I've seen. I know the department of educational psychology hasn't sent out interview invites for Masters yet, even though the interview is Feb 5th..
  5. UT-Austin posted on their website that 50+ for PhD and 60+ for Masters apply, they interview 25-30, and they accept 10-15 (combined).
  6. Has anyone heard from UT-Austin's EdS LSSP program?
  7. Nope, no word yet. Their website says that interview day is February 5th, so either that day is incorrect or I should hear something back soon!
  8. I emailed the department. They said everything is submitted on their end, so they're just waiting for the graduate school to give the "okay" after reviewing my transcripts and scores. They did say that the admissions committee can review my online documents when they're ready, they just can't accept/deny me until it has formally been "completed" by the graduate school.
  9. My UT MyStatus says "in review" but my department check is "incomplete". It's Educational Psychology - MA school psychology. All of my materials were submitted 2 weeks ago, and the deadline was the 10th. I emailed the admissions coordinator today asking if they were missing something on their side.. While I can handle not getting in because I'm not good enough, I'd be super upset with myself if I didn't get in because I did something wrong on the application. Anyone have something similar happen? If you applied to UT, especially to the School Psychology LSSP program, does it say 'complete'?
  10. I'm applying to UT -Austin. The application is due January 15th. I submitted my application to the graduate school on December 23rd. The graduate school status check still says "your application is now under review. We will notify you of any changes in status". Will this delay my application from being passed on before the Jan. 15th deadline? Did I mess up somewhere? I didn't even think about the fact that it would have to be processed through the graduate school before the department ever sees it.
  11. Thanks for the response, iphi! I'm only applying to 2 schools and this my come back to bite me later. One is my ideal program with a professor who is focused on social-emotional development which is my interest, but it's also a much more competitive program. The other is in the town I'm currently living and working. It has much more lax admittance scores, and I could go there for my Ed.S and then potentially go to my dream school for Ph.D. As of now, my statement of purpose is pretty great. It has been proofed by quite a few graduate students as well as an admissions coordinator (acquaintance of mine, I'm not applying to her school). My letters of rec should be wonderful and personable. And I feel like all of my experience up until this point has led me into school psychology, specifically my dream school's program. So if I can get my scores to where they need to be so that they are actually looking at me and not just numbers, I feel like I should be all good.
  12. Online says to upload my transcripts. For my large university that I spent the last 3 years at, no problem, I got the PDF and uploaded the official transcript. For the small liberal arts school I attended for my freshmen year, they only do paper transcripts. On the school's website it says "If you have been instructed to upload documents, DO NOT SEND paper copies. It will delay the processing of your application.". So should I order a paper copy from the first school to myself, scan it in, and upload it to their website? Seems convoluted.
  13. After graduating, I've spent 2 years in Teach for America followed by another year of teaching at a different school with different methodologies (just to see the differences). Now I'm applying to grad school in school psychology. I feel so far removed from undergrad, and I'm finding it hard to believe I'm actually going to get into a top/mid tiered school. I took the GRE back in 2012 (junior year) and did poorly (151V and 143Q). GPA 3.5, higher if you just look at the last 60 hours. I'm retaking the GRE in November, and actually studying this time, however I've been out of school for so long I'm feeling somewhat cynical about how well I will perform. I have 1 profession reference from the professor I did research under in undergrad and 2 references from coaches/admin since I've been teaching. I don't feel like a dumb person, but these grad school applications are making me question if I really know enough to get in and do well. Any advice? Recommendations? "That was me and I got in!" statements?
