  1. Hiya! Yes, 10 school rejections later... So, after that lovely wallet squeezing season, I'm looking forward to more! 0-0 I may retake the GRE, but my score was decent, so perhaps not. I am staying with my current school working in our research labs and am probably going to turn my minor into a major. To be honest, there is a class I'm contending to take again, so it's all for the best, I suppose. I've been thinking about applying to some spring admittance schools which was recommended by my advisor, yet the head of my lab recommends I apply for our program next year. I hate sitting on my hands, though. Have considered getting my SLPA and am trying to find an internship (hopefully paid) TT.TT however there are no programs near me and I can't get the 70+ hours without a certificate... gah! Since I'm interested in working with the Deaf/HoH population (pediatrics), I've also been tossing around the idea of going for a PhD/AuD, but then I'd miss the kiddos on a day to day basis and would most likely go towards private practice or clinical (which is do-able, but not where I want to be). SO! Life in a nutshell. I have no freaking idea. Too many options. Not enough money.
  2. Yes, YOU send the score via the ETS website to CSDCAS. Pick your best and away it does $25 later.
  3. Thank you both so much! I spoke with my advisor and some of my peers. Seems like it's fairly common so I should be able to without too much hassle. I'm fairly certainit is not listed on our transcripts, but I'll double check with the registrar. I appreciate the advice!
  4. Hello! Hmmm, I've heard the same about NSSLHA from a few advisors so I haven't been an active participant there, but I am in it. I am part of a research lab and do other activities on my own outside of school which, I believe, would show initiative and diversity. I am minoring in Linguistics, which may help as my man focus is Language Acquisition, but there is no definite yes or no in that regards. I am in the application process now as well. We'll hope for the best! <3
  5. Hiya, So, worried like everyone else about not getting in so I'm hoping for a backup plan since I've already applied to Grad Schools and need to apply for Spring Graduation soon. The sort of "logic" of this idea is to apply to graduate (with my BA in CSD and a Ling minor) in the summer and if I get into a grad school, then I can graduate and jump right into. If not, then I can forfeit the graduation fee, continue in the fall semester to boost my Ling minor to a major and re-take one a class for a slightly higher overall GPA. (I am 2 classes away from the major requirements after this semester.) This way, I imagine I would be a stronger candidate for the next go 'round. Does anyone know if applying for a summer graduation will affect a Grad school's admissions? Do you think this logic is sound if it does not have an impact? Thanks for entertaining this idea and offering your advice. I really appreciate it.
  6. Hi! I'm looking to join the graduate SLP world (hopefully Fall 2016!), but do have a couple questions for those of you in the thicket or with any insight. I am currently building out an Excel sheet listing each school with approximate tuition and fees, but it's beginning to blur a little. Some schools provide a simple, easy to use tool that will show you the overall cost for entering into their Fall-Spring Grad programs, though SLHS, CSD, nor SLP are listed from the grad programs to choose from (I.e. University of Minnesota- Minneapolis). In some schools in the student handbook, CSD is listed as under Liberal Studies, yet when I go to look up the program it is still not listed. I'm looking for OOS as well as Instate programs, but it's not a cogent outline. Trying to figure it out for a number of schools, but even with the calculators built into the website, most only show Fall-Spring. How did you figure out your overall cost before applying? Thank you for your time! I appreciate your help.
