  1. It depends on what you are going for. For example, If you want want to do clinical work there are several options such as a masters in social work, counseling, or a PsyD.
  2. I applied last year and I am reapplying this year. Honestly, talking it out with my BF and sadly time has helped. If I am rejected again this year I would be sad but it won't be as deep of a blow.
  3. I think you will be fine. But in your personal statement really explain why you want to be a school psy. Dont just say because you want to help people put something unique. Something that they would remember you for.
  4. I have heard from clinical faculty that it does not matter where you get your research experience but you have it and that it is quality experience.
  5. I dont see a problem you would just have to take the psy subtest when applying.
  6. I heard that it helps that you have clinical interests because this means that you know you want to focus on research.
  7. I went on to a masters program. So far it has been ok. I am reapplying to a ph.d program. If I get in I am planning on leaving and if I dont have it as a backup. The good thing about my masters program is that I can work right after it and the pay is pretty good. I also see it as training for a ph.d program. just my 2 cents tho.
  8. This, i had the same question. The above is what I heard.
  9. It varies and depends on the school. I have an amazing gpa , 2 pubs ( one first author and the other third), 4 poster presentations, 2 oral presentations. But I can say that I have really bad GRE scores. So that is what brought my app down. I was interviewed at one program waitlisted and then rejected. I was accepted into a clinical masters program where research is not the theme. I am reapplying and retaking the GRE scores. When I interviewed there where people who did not have the level of research experience that I had but they did have amazing GRE scores, they got it. It all varies with the program and their focus. Just keep swimming, well, that is what I tell myself.
  10. If I may ask, why are you applying to both?
  11. I agree with Doctor to be. I am in the Ed.s I actually got in without wanting to get in ( very long story). I am reapplying to different Ph.D programs that have a focus on research. Since this is my first semester I don't feel bad about leaving but if I were on my second year I would not reapply. I am planning on resubmitting on my third year if I don't get in this round.
  12. Hello, I was wondering how many times people have applied and been rejected? This would be my second time applying.
