  1. Thanks for the input! Another question that is also for anyone else who has been to interviews so far... What is the general sense of attire? Is everyone wearing a full suit or is it more casual? Even though I know what I wear won't be a make-it-or-break-it decision point, I am still having a mild freakout about what to wear. I was planning to just wear a skirt with a nice blouse and probably flats, just because I know that I am visiting two labs and will be doing lots of walking. Should I wear a blazer too?!? So many options! I just want to make a good first impression!
  2. I can't provide any input re: funding but am curious as to how and when you got your acceptance. I applied to Berkeley Mechanical MS/PhD but am assuming that since I haven't heard anything, it is bad news.
  3. Did anyone go to the UVA BME interview this past weekend? I'm going this upcoming weekend and am wondering what to expect. I haven't received an itinerary yet from the department. I went to UVA undergrad, so I already know that I love Charlottesville, but I am sure that my experience as a grad student would be completely different from undergrad. Thanks!
  4. I applied CMU BME and haven't heard back either :/
  5. Yes! Me too. When I voice my concern, everyone's like "You'll get in everywhere!" That's essentially impossible, considering my GRE scores and the quality of schools I applied to. It will just be so embarrassing if I get rejected from all six schools.
  6. I'm not expecting to get accepted, but it would obviously be very exciting if I did. Thanks!
  7. What department did you apply to at CMU, if you don't mind me asking? I applied BME and haven't heard anything, so if you applied BME also and already had an interview, I'm guessing that is bad news for me...
  8. I have located a resource at http://oracle-web.petersons.com/ccc92/display_pdf?p_instance_id=135397.pdf that specifies that individuals applying to the MEMP program through MIT must also apply to MIT as a regular graduate student in an engineering department, but there is no indication of this requirement on the MEMP FAQ page http://hst.mit.edu/academics/memp/admissions. I have started my application via the HST Graduate Admissions site located at https://gradapply.mit.edu/hst and I do not see information regarding a requirement to apply to another MIT department. Does anyone know if I will have to apply as a regular MIT graduate student and apply to the MEMP program through HST or is my application through the HST site sufficient? Thanks!
