  1. So here is my situation. I am currently finishing my 1st year of my MS in Biology. I am a research assistant and next academic year I will be a teaching assistant. This means my entire MS is virtually 100% funded. My wife and I had twins 4 weeks ago and we are currently 5-6 hours away from our family. I have applied, and been accepted, into a few MBA programs recently. This would allow us to move back closer to home, allow me to work full time, and get my MBA degree. Anyone ever been put in this situation of having to decide between fields and such? If so, how did you handle it? Any and all input and advice is welcome!
  2. I have a full tuition waiver and an annual stipend for my M.S. in Biology with a concentration in Microbial and Cellular Biology. I will be a GRA my first year (this fall and next spring) and then my 2nd year I will be a GTA. Only thing I will pay for is a few fees and books.
  3. I finished my application in September. I was set on one school to pursue my Masters at as I really was intrigued by a PI's work. Submitted and complete in October. On November 13th I got the email saying I was accepted into the program! I will be pursuing my Masters of Science in Microbiology starting Fall 2016! Good luck to the rest of you who have applied to schools!
  4. Okay so the "Meet and Greet" portion of the forum seems to be done or something so I figured I'd introduce myself here. I graduate with my BS in Biology in December and then Fall 2016 will be when I begin in a MS in Microbiology program (I know masters degrees may not be as popular as PhD). After my masters though I either plan on pursuing my PhD in Microbiology or attending Medical School. Hence the reason I chose to pursue my Masters first. Gives me additional time to truly know what I want even though I lean slightly towards the PhD. Anywho, glad to be here!
