  1. Congrats to you!! I also got accepted without funding I have lived in Geneva for 4 months as part of my Internship, and affordable housing is very difficult to find. It will be hard to find flats that are under 500CHF, but if you apply to the Foyers, or students houses (AHEAD OF TIME), you may have a chance. Try checking out St. Boniface-- http://www.cstb.ch/sejours-academique-2/?lang=en or the different Foyers. Foyer St. Justin was 690 CHF though. I think there is a all girls one in the old down by the cathedral and it was cheaper. Keep checking and keep applying! Or another option is to live in the French part, like the ferney voltaire It's actually not that far from IHEID. Maybe like 15 minute bus ride. Part-time work really depends on what kind of work. There were several offerings i saw posted. Some of them required French, some of them didn't. I think it depends.
  2. Accepted too! But with out any funding. This sucks
  3. I think they usually release the results about 3-4pm Geneva time. I really wish it was earlier!
  4. Congrats guys! Gah, March seems so far away! This is painful to wait
  5. I hope both of you guys get accepted! It may not even be the same person looking through both of your applications, especially if you are applying for different programs. So I wouldn't be worried about that! And plus, your focus is entirely different. I really don't think it would affect the outcome in any way. I am kind of in a similar situation too, except it's a friend. We both graduated from the same university, did an internship in a similar organization at the same time, in the same city, and applying to the same MIA program. I was worried but I don't think it should matter. For me, he submitted on the early period while I am just about to submit mine. Good luck to both of us!
  6. I would say the safest option is to give them a call, and check with the admissions office. They would know best. However, my guess is that, they will probably say it's too late to make further changes once your application is submitted (especially if it's early applications).
  7. Thank you for the very useful information! I called the Admissions office today and the lady was like, "nope, sorry, too late." haha. That is great news! Thanks again!
  8. I have one more question guys! How did you guys write your SOP? It says "motivation letter" but it doesn't have to be in the letter format, right? One problem I am having at the moment is writing my SOP. How did you guys structure it? Did you write about particular field of interest? or the general interest in the interdisciplinary study as a whole? (as is being able to discover your specific area of interest, or see the larger picture of how the world is working) I think I'll probably be the last person to submit the applications. haha.
  9. Thank you! With the recommendations, it turned out you can only save once (shit.), but oh well at least I got my two references
  10. In the application, you can insert up to three references. The third one is optional. I guess I will have to check one more time and then contact the admissions office. Man, writing the LOR.... that sounds like a lot of stress! good luck!
  11. Hey Guys, First of all, Happy New Years! I hope we all receive good news I am also in the process of applying to the Graduate Institute. I had a question regarding the financial documents. So I don't have any professional work experience because I am still in my undergraduate studies which means my income is 0. My question is, what exactly is a tax certificate? Is a tax clearance certificate the same thing? My concern is that my parents do not have any income tax because they own a small business. Does anyone have the same experience as me? What kind of document should I be looking for? Another problem I have had is regarding my recommendation. So I inserted the contact details of two references. However, now that I try to insert the third one, the "save and continue" button has disappeared. I would appreciate the help. Thanks guys!
