  1. Hey, I can help answer this. I got an email March 24th, from Kathleen Porter, in the email she stated that we were supposed to RSVP with her and other details about the orientation. This orientation is for the 2 year program (I can't remember if you applied for the 2 year program). I would call and check in with the school since you were accepted and didn't receive the email. I applied for the FT 2 year program.
  2. I also accepted the offer back in late January, looks like we'll be in the same cohort! I have not heard anything from financial aid. But from what I'm aware is that they don't offer financial aid, just loans.
  3. For those of you that got accepted, are you planning to attend CSULB or are you waiting to hear back from other schools? To those of you waiting, I hope you hear back soon!
  4. Congratulations! Is CSULB your first choice?
  5. I found out through email first, I actually never went back to double check the mycsulb. The email said, "We are pleased to inform you that the School of Social Work has recommended you for admission to the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at California State University, Long Beach. Please find attached your letter and “MSW Acceptance Letter Checklist.” You must initial each box on the checklist, sign/date the checklist, and return it via email to CHHS-SW@csulb.edu (or mail it to the address below) within ten (10) days of the date on the attached letter. Please note: you will be required to attend a mandatory MSW New Student Orientation. We will email you more details about the orientation once they have been finalized. Although you may receive a registration e-mail prior to orientation, you cannot register for classes until after you have attended orientation." Attached to the email was the "MSW Acceptance Letter Checklist" and an acceptance letter, from what I got you have to sign off on the checklist, email or mail it in, and then they fully accept you. After I submitted those things they sent me a follow up email stating I was good to go. I would try emailing CHHS-SW@csulb.edu (it's the general social work department email) they're pretty great on replying in a timely manner. Good luck and congratulations on your acceptance!
  6. It'll probably take them a while to get to you, since I'm assuming the bulk of applications got in around that time. I would say give them a couple weeks, and soon you should receive an email stating that they received your application. I wouldn't stress out about it.
  7. That's really frustrating, especially since she did it with two different schools. If you're able to I would just tell her that you will pick it up and hand deliver it to CSULB. Did the second school also give you extra time to submit the LOR?
  8. I would suggest that you tell this person to bcc you when they send in your recommendation letter. So you have proof and peace of mind, that's really unprofessional of this person to not have turned in the recommendation letter on time.
  9. Hey everyone, I was just accepted into the 2 year program! I sent my application 12/1, I overnighted the documents Received an email from the school stating that they received my application 12/9 Received an email stating that my application was going to department review 12/23 Acceptance email 1/29 stating I have ten days to accept GPA: 2.88 7 years of community and union organizing BA in English--Literature and Raza Studies
