  1. Although I pretty much have my mind set...I am still waiting on Fordham to reach a decision. I don't know why but Fordham seems to be the most cumbersome for me. I also submitted all my documents on the deadline date and they sent me the "application complete" email 2-3 weeks later. I remembered sending an email in early February to confirm that they had received the documents and they emailed me back about 6 days after my email.
  2. @AMcCoy Thanks for your take! I think most Financial Aid offices are very comparable. Perhaps they don't like the thought of giving money out. I bet the bursar departments are all joyful to collect I think part of learning experience in Social Work is that we all come across people that may not be friendly, easy going, or they may be overly joyous. So perhaps the first lesson is dealing with the variable faculty and staff. Another point to make is that the Financial Aid office is not a place students always have to visit. Usually once you accept/appeal a package you rarely have to deal with them. Only to confirm the loans get processed which is probably tracked online via Albert.
  3. CONGRATS OPT! I am so happy that your day finally arrived! That countdown clock of ours was quite the adventure. You must let us know the scholarship offer tomorrow.
  4. I completely understand the feeling. I already accepted the NYU offer as it was my first choice. I practically gave up on waiting for Fordham. The horrendous part is my application should have been completed the first week of February. However, they didn't upload my final document until 2 weeks after, and I only got the "your application is complete" email last week. So by the time Fordham renders any decision it will probably be the middle of March or early April! Since I already accepted NYU it would be very hard for me to change my mind (and lose the deposit!) to switch to Fordham. I like both programs... but unless Fordham offered me 20K+ a year scholarship (renewable) and a GA position it would not be worth it to me.
  5. Congratulations everyone! @Opt4theBest Hang on for the ride this week. I'm pulling for you! @SylviaLin Congrats! An acceptance is great regardless of the probationary status.
  6. @Opt4theBest Congratulations! I was rooting for you. When I first read that you talked your way out of the conditional offer on my iPhone ...I thought they rescinded the offer. Fortunately, I read the full post ?
  7. Congrats Opt! Although it is not the most convenient news... at least you heard back from them with an acceptance. Hopefully you get some better news next week from the interim director. At the very least we know the clock is working!
  8. Congrats! It appears they do send out decisions in batches.
  9. @Opt4theBest Thanks! Now we need to fix that countdown clock for you too!
  10. I got it close to 10:00 (roughly 50 minutes ago)
  11. I got my NYU acceptance letter today! I was getting ready to leave for the day and turn off my monitors. Luckily I looked at them and I had an email with the subject "Your decision letter." I guess I was right about getting it when we least expect it. What a long long journey...even though it was only a couple of weeks. Now to await the funding email!
  12. @BrendonSW Thanks for the additional information. I think NYU has thrown their system out the window at this point. I received the "Welcome from the Dean at NYU" email on the last day of January and still nothing. I am expecting some news by the end of this week. I'm curious about something. Do they send out rejection letters via email as well? I remembered reading some schools send out acceptances via email and rejections via snail mail.
  13. Another day passed with little news. I think the NYU office has taken an impromptu vacation or they really want to make those of us on this board squirm. On the other hand...Fordham has also been slow to turn out decisions for some of us.
  14. I will stay positive! I actually feel like removing email notifications from my phone. I get frustrated seeing a bunch of email alerts only to find out that none of the emails are from the schools I applied to. The sad part is when we least expect the email to come...it will probably come.
