  1. I interviewed at Portland also and they said it would be 2-3 weeks and that decisions would be sooner rather than later. That was on Feb. 15th and I haven't heard anything. So who knows. Based on previous years, this week is when the acceptances are emailed and waitlists/rejections are snail-mailed.
  2. I totally agree that post-bacs and summer programs and MAs can do awesome stuff for your career. They are great opportunities for develop your work and put together a competive MFA application. I did a two year MA program after my undergrad and it was fantastic. I had a two-year teaching fellowship, studio space, and a lot of really great professional development opportunities. My personal experience at Tyler was very frustrating and rubbed me the wrong way, but that was just my experience. To me it's a testament to how important it is to visit the schools your interested in because it really is all about fit.
  3. Congrats on UIowa! The VCU sell on the summer program reminded me of when I was visiting Tyler Arts at Temple. The professor I was meeting with stood me up and while I was waiting they tried to sell me on their post-baccalaureate program. I had to break it to them that I already have a Master of Arts and was thus uninterested. I ended up not applying there because the visit was so terrible.
  4. Interviews are a whole different kind of stress, lol. You should check out the interview thread. Very helpful!
  5. It looks like their past notification dates have been after the 20th
  6. I was digging through some old threads and it looks like Portland State news/interview requests should be coming in any day now. Has anyone received a happy Portland email yet??
  7. My aid packet says, "... scholarship awards are dispersed in four installments equal to two years of full-time study." So it's for four semesters.
  8. You still have one! Plus, rejection the life blood of the arts. You can't let it take you out, you have to keep working. I was rejected last year, but now I am back with better work and a stronger portfolio.
  9. Haha, Yeah, I applied to the sculpture program. Apparently they're not releasing the rankings because some people applied to multiple programs and " this admissions process is complicated by internal funding issues". Essentially, every MFA finalist is just swimming around in the same pool until they maybe get plucked. Very annoying
  10. Seriously a great school! My best friend from undergrad is getting her painting MFA there now!
