  1. I was contacted by my POI at Lakehead, but I have already accepted another offer. You can PM me if you're interested in the POI. Hope this is useful!
  2. The psychology department at my institution is also more social/cog/neuro-focused, so I've gotten clinical research experience as a research assistant in the Psychiatry department and then went on to get an MSc Psychiatry. I have been accepted into a couple different clinical psyc programs for next fall so I wouldn't worry about it. It is more important to focus on the research experience that you are gaining and how relevant it is to the research area you are hoping to pursue in a Clinical Psychology program later on. The fact that it's in a Psychiatry department doesn't really matter, IMO.
  3. Both institutes are affiliated with McGill. The MNI has more neuro-focused research, whereas the Douglas is a psychiatric institute with several inpatient and outpatient speciality services as well as an extensive research center. Are you looking to work with a specific researcher? It doesn't really make a difference if they are working out of the MNI or Douglas in terms of reputation. However the MNI is in downtown Montreal, whereas the Douglas is not and takes longer to get to. The majority of McGill's Psychiatry department is based at the Douglas and I've had grad courses there. It takes about an hour by bus or metro from downtown.
  4. I haven't heard anything yet. This is my second year applying there. Last year I was invited to Skype interviews on Jan. 23 and received a rejection email sent to multiple recipients on Feb. 11.
  5. Congratulations and welcome to Montreal! I have lived here since 2008, I did my undergraduate and MSc at McGill. If you have any other questions about the city PM me!
  6. Thanks! Dr. Bagby isn't my POI, but he called because he's the chair. I haven't accepted the offer yet so I'd rather not say my POI - still have a few interviews, but I'm pretty certain I'll accept UTSC.
  7. I was accepted to UTSC Clinical Psychology. I received a phone call from Dr. Bagby, not Minnie. My interview was in person during the interview days on Jan 25/26.
