  1. I am wondering if it is possible to apply for and use an OPT for an internship during the summer between the end of my undergraduate program and my graduate one? I am asking because I think there would be a SEVIS transfer at one point which is supposed to cancel OPT? I have yet to accept an offer so I am not sure when the graduate schools will start the new F-1 visa process.
  2. I see. Is the Presidential Fellowship the only kind of TA/RA award they can give or is it simply higher in value/top picks? EDIT: I checked on here: http://www.cs.columbia.edu/education/phd/faqs/applying and it seems that the Presidential Fellowships are for the top picks from the pool of candidates and that there are other admits afterwards who are awarded Graduate Research Assistantships. So, it is not technically rolling basis and I clearly wasn't in the top wave but there is still a chance for admission?
  3. Have they finalized their results/released all of their acceptances? Previous years seem to indicate a rolling basis process and there aren't many CS PhD results on the survey, at the moment, concerning Columbia?
  4. Having not heard back from MIT, CMU and Berkeley. I am working off the assumption that I have been rejected by those programs. I was however wondering if there could be a slim chance that I have been waitlisted. Otherwise, do those programs have waitlists at all and do they inform such people at the same time as the acceptances?
  5. Does not hearing back from Cal, MIT or CMU mean it's 100% a rejection or is there such a thing as a waitlist or even another wave (CS PhD).
