Hi Alyssa, I applied to NYU, Fordham, and Hunter, as well. I have been accepted into Fordham and NYU (still waiting to hear back from Hunter). NYU gave me a decent scholarship, so now the costs of both schools are incredibly similar which is making my decision very difficult. I applied to Fordham and NYU due to their clinical focuses. I'm visiting both schools next week, so if I receive any insights into the programs, I will let you know!

Hi Regina, As this post is fairly old, I'm not sure if you will respond to this...but I recently have been accepted by NYU & Fordham, and must now make a decision between the two programs. How did you make your final decision between the two schools? With a scholarship from NYU, the costs are now very similar, which makes my decision even more difficult. Thanks for any advice!

Hi Tudor, Thanks for your advice! Can I ask why you would like to attend NYU over Fordham? I just received my acceptance letter today from NYU, so now I need to start making decisions. The only thing that scares me about NYU is the cost (although, I haven't received my financial aid information yet). It sounds like you received a large tuition break? Thanks again!

Hi tudor, It's great to know that I'm not the only one who asked for an extension! Are you worried about not getting your first choice at field placements? If you don't hear back from some of your other schools within those 4 weeks, do you plan to just put down the $250 to save your place? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I was accepted into the MSW program at Fordham in late January. They want us to make a $250 deposit and decision within 2 weeks of acceptance. They gave me an extension until March 1st, but said that field placements are first come first serve, and that I might loose out if I don't submit earlier than March 1st. My only concern is that I haven't received any news back from the other schools that I applied to. Fordham is one of my top choices, but financial aid, cost of living, etc. will need to be factored in. Does anyone have advice? Should I put the $250 deposit now and just eat my money if I end up not attending? Is it ethical to put the deposit down even if I'm not 100% sure I plan to attend? Thanks so much for the advice!
