I'm bumping this because I'm curious if anyone chose Hopkins. I was wait listed and just notified of my acceptance and trying to make a decision myself! I would love to hear about how you made your decisions as well.

I haven't seen a post about this this application cycle, so I thought I'd check to see if anyone else is dealing with something similar. I am declining an offer to my top choice because of lack of funding, and I would like to let the department chair know since he has been very encouraging and helpful so far when I contacted him about it (also, I might apply again and want him to remember me in a positive light). Yet, I'm unsure how to phrase it in a diplomatic way. I want him to know why I'm turning down the offer, but would it appear passive aggressive to tell him its because I wasn't offered enough funding? Any advice is appreciated.

I got my rejection today, it was a generic email from the graduate admissions director.

I read through them, it seems like other people in past years have emailed the program coordinator to be told informally of their results. I'm debating giving that a shot, since I also expect a rejection but just want to be told either way by now.

I was accepted with a half tuition scholarship to a MA program, but I don't know how I could rationalize the cost of living where it is located. Does anyone have any tips on how I could go about bringing this up with the program coordinator? I'd hate for financial reasons to hold me back from going, and I'm sure this is a familiar situation for others, so what would you do to afford food and housing if you don't receive a stipend or TAship?

I'm still waiting as well. Where did you see that others are receiving their results? I checked the portal and it says everything has been submitted, but nothing about the decision.
