  1. Western Kentucky University is still sending out offers. A friend is declining there tomorrow. I know it's not the deep south, but it's southern.
  2. Remember my friend that was accepted in WKU? She just got accepted at another school so she's going to rescind her offer at WKU so they should have an opening. If you have applied there and haven't heard, don't give up!
  3. WKU doesn't care if it's past July 31 when you finish. They will want you to have the class finished by the time the Fall classes start. There is an orientation for campus students. Is there one for online?
  4. Dr. Bland is the graduate director for the campus students and their applicants were told that they could take Diagnostics and Assessment this summer with the online preSLP group. She said that Dr. Shackelford allows admitted graduate students to take any needed classes this summer. Maybe you can email one of them to confirm. All I've heard about WKU is that they are really good at responding to emails. You may not like the answer, but somebody will respond.
  5. I'd go with Ole Miss which has a strong reputation. Those rankings are not based on quality as much as they are on who all responds to the questionnaires. Look at how many ASHA presidents have been affiliated with Ole Miss vs. UCF. Oxford is tiny but you'll only be there a couple of years and then the world will be open to you. All programs have to make sure we get competencies in the Big Nine with adults and children so you'll be fine.
  6. A friend was notified today that she was admitted to the online distance part-time. She wanted full-time but heard that it was easier to get in the part-time. I think that the regular campus students were notified too. They will admit more in about two weeks according to a former GA there. They will keep doing that until they get 25 students in each group, distance and campus. I'm not sure if it's 25 full-time and 25 part-time online distance or if it's 25 all together.
  7. An buddy was notified today of her acceptance to WKU's part-time distance program. I know that the first group of people accepted to the regular on campus program have been notified. The second notices go out about two weeks later.
  8. At Western Kentucky, the professors teach just like you are face to face. They will call on you and expect an answer (you have to use a mic or type). You have to work in groups which is hard when you live on one coast and your partner is on the other but it can be interesting. A couple of professors make you present in class just like you there.
