  1. I am not a F-1 student. I did some research and found out the paid for summer stipend for an official graduate R.A is $2500 -4000/summer. Also, the stipend for Fall/Spring semester is $9000/semester, which is ~$2000/month. So Im kinda not sure what should be the number I shoot for
  2. I am offered a PhD in chemistry in Fall 2016 with a TA position. I contacted my POI and she says I can start the research assistantship with her this summer. It means that I will be one semester ahead of other students. Yesterday she sent me an email asking how much support (stipend) I would need in order not to work outside for the whole summer (May 9 - Aug 15). Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you.
  3. The thing is most schools will give you the answer after April 15th. Since they make offers to other students, and wait for their answers. If they decline the offer, the opportunity is passed to the next person on the waitlist. If they accept the offer, then you won't get the spot.
  4. I think you probably need to make a call, or the best way is to meet him face-to-face.
  5. I got offered for a funded PhD program in chemistry and I accepted it. I will start the grad school in Fall 2016. I am currently finishing my undergrad courses. If for some reasons I ended up with a C in my class, would it be possible if I get rejected for PhD in Fall?
  6. thanks for the answer @rising_star. I still have a week to make the final decision. Hopefully school B will give me the answer before then.
  7. bro, I applied for PhD in VT and the counselor said the decision will be made between now and September 1st. So just wait...
  8. Hello all, I am a new member. I got offered for PhD program in chemistry from school A. The school requires me to let them know my decision by April 15th. However, I am still waiting for the decision from school B which I applied to as chemical engineering major. I just had a conversation with a counselor and she said the decision may be made between now and September 1st? I really don't wanna accept offer from school A then retract it. It doesn't sound professional. What should I do now?
