College students should base their choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field. College students should choose their major based their interest and passion. Many students are discouraged from their field of interest due to the limited number of jobs available in that field. Individuals put their best effort in an area that he or she is interested. Therefore, if there is no interest, it will be noticeable in their performance. For example, if a student is interested in broadcast communications and his choice is deviated to a field where jobs are not scarce for example in the field on medicine, will not have the best performance once in the field. While in school, changes in field will not affect someone as much as it will when changing once out of school. Imaging that if the previous mentioned student pursues a career in medicine, a field that requires the highest performance of each individual, goes day-by-day treating patients that may have life-threating conditions. Recent graduates or soon to be graduates want to stabilize with an employment shortly after graduation. Some graduates are in a position that they cannot find a job in their field due to limited positions.
