  1. I just deferred admission to a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program to Fall 2017. This is a program for working executives and unfortunately, unlike a traditional PhD program, does not offer any types of funding (outside of student loans). I'm trying to explore if there would be any way to at least fund part of my studies in another fashion besides student loans? Sadly I am at a loss as to where to look or where to start. Any thoughts or direction would be appreciated.
  2. I applied for a DBA program earlier this year and was accepted. I accepted their offer in late May and paid the non-refundable deposit, with the intent of starting the program this September. My employer was all about me being part of this program (I need to stay employed during my studies to support my family), though has advised me recently that although they will encourage my efforts, that they do not see a business need for this program and therefore will not financially support it. Needless to say I am devastated. I can't fathom fully funding this course of study myself (approx $150,000 in total). This was my dream, though I know I need to tell the program something. Part of me wants to beg for a deferral, knowing this late in the game it is unlikely, as they are planning for my arrival and would be unlikely able to replace my spot in this year's class. Another part of me says just to withdraw and walk away, saddened, though not having a heavy heart should I not be able to locate some type of funding help in a year's time. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
  3. Undergrad in the 90's at a BigTen school ranked for Psych, though had a poor GPA (2.85/4.0). In the 90's I also took 14 hours of at-large graduate coursework (education theory and MBA courses) with a 4.0 GPA. I recently finished a Masters in Finance at a ranked university with a 3.452/4.0. Twenty years of professional experience in municipal law enforcement and insurance investigations. Need to retake the GRE/GMAT due to age.
