If I'm looking at a school who has an application deadline in mid December, when should I take and send in my GRE scores by? I am planning on taking it the first time in mid September, but am trying to plan in case I need to take it twice. If I take it the second time and send in my scores by November 1st do you think that will be enough time for the scores to get in on time? Or should I try to do it by mid October? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Yeah, so just to clarify, when you say they can just submit the letters of rec once, do you mean one professor can just submit one letter of rec and that one general letter will go to all the schools you apply to? Or do they need to submit letters of rec for each school I apply to on CSDCAS? Thank you for the info!

Hi! When filling out CSDCAS applications, how do personal statements and letters of recommendations work? If I want to apply to 5 schools who use CSDCAS, will my professors have to send in 5 different letters of rec each? Or will they just send in a general letter of recommendation that covers all the schools I'm applying to? I have the same question for personal statements: will I be able to tailor my personal statement to each school and submit 5 personal statements, or just 1 general personal statement? Hi, So I've pretty much decided that I will take a gap year in between graduation and starting graduate school for SLP. I'm mostly doing this for financial reasons, but I also feel like my application would be a little too weak, and I think if I take a year to work in a job applicable to the field, it would help out a lot. My questions for you all is: Do schools look down on taking gap years? And what jobs might you suggest I look into to give me some applicable experience during this year? I am hoping to work in a medical setting once I become an SLP, but I know jobs for this are few and far between, especially with just a bachelor's in CSD like I will have. SLPA jobs are a thing in Texas, but they're hard to find. Recommendations on different jobs would be helpful!

Hi, Is anyone aware of how admissions committees view double majors? I will be graduating with my B.S. in CSD this spring, originally with a minor in psychology, but I saw that if I hold out until summer 2017, just a semester after I was supposed to graduate, I could pull off obtaining a B.A. in Psychology as well. My interests lie in medical speech pathology and all things related, including psycholinguistics and behavioral neuroscience, which are courses I am able to take through my psychology department at my school. Although my last 60 credits and major GPA is pretty competitive (3.88), my cumulative GPA isn't stellar (3.4), and so I'm really looking for things to help me stand out. I have volunteering, NSSLHA officer and research experience, and also have my CNA and have worked in the health care field for just under a year. Even with all of this under my belt, I still don't feel like I have enough to really make an impact surrounded by far superior applicants, and was wondering if anyone knew if a double major might help with that. If I do decide to double major and I end up not being able to graduate until July/early August, can I still apply for entrance into the Fall 2017 school year for grad programs? Or would programs consider cutting that too close? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
