Hello everyone. I've read lots of information regarding SOP, its structure and recommendations. However, i couldn't find any information about my issue. During my second year of study on BS program in Software Engineering i had plunged into the game hacking. I had successfully bypassed an anti-cheat system with my own approach and released a public hack for the game with a playerbase ~100k and 5-6k active daily players. It took nearly 1 month for anti-cheat developers to fix my creation. So it definitely was something new for them. Nevertheless, it was my first and the last game hacking project due to ethical reasons and guilt for forced bad experience for the legit players. I had spent almost 3 months, learning the game engine, function hooking basics and approaches, OS internal structure, system programming, working with debugger and disassembler. All in all, i had greatly improved my skills and knowledge in certain IT areas that helped me a lot during my studies, especially with my thesis - "Analysis of the Malware Behavior". However, i am not sure, whether to mention this experience in my SOP or not. On the one hand, it can make my SOP more distinguishable. On the other hand, i don't want to create a feeling of being an improper student that will use gained knowledge for evil deeds.
