Hello all, I'm rather new here, been lerking for a bit and finally registered because I have a question that doesn't seem to have been answered here (as far as I've found). So, I'm starting a Master's program in German studies in the Fall 2016. I received my BA in 2014 in German studies with a minor in theoretical linguistics, and recently graduated with an MA in Applied Linguistics this last Spring semester (2016). The problem is my BA in German wasn't terribly literature heavy, and I haven't taken a literature course in ages. I was wondering if there is a "before a literature degree, read this" type list. Applied Linguistics is similar to most of the sciences, in that, you don't focus until you hit the graduate level, so it was an easy transition. Should I begin reading lists of literature from other universities? The program I've been accepted to doesn't have a comprehensive list anywhere (University of Florida), so I'm not terribly sure what to do. Basically, I've got the pre-program jitters and what to get a head start on things. Thanks for any help in advance!
