  1. There is a Northwestern acceptance listed. Anyone?
  2. Two reasons to be a bit skeptical about this method is that (1) it might take very long to get rejected, and (2) you might not even get feedback. For instance, according to the APA statistics you linked to, in The Philosophical Review the average time for a manuscript under review is 5 months, and only 15% of manuscripts get referee feedback (link). I think it makes more sense to assess the quality of your paper (perhaps asking your advisor/colleagues) and then decide where it's realistic to get accepted, much like applying to grad school.

  4. I'll be applying too. I'm an international student, and very nervous about the process. I'm just about through compiling my list of 15-20 schools that I'd like to attend.
  5. The right way to do this is to calculate the probability of being rejected from all and then subtract that from 100%. That is, 1-(0.935^17) = 68%.
