  1. 5 years seems to be the norm for accepting undergrad courses. You can try, but I don't know how flexible they'll be.
  2. I've had no problems with the fin aid office and I've called a few times. I'm paying for mine primarily with loans this term and next term, but i'm gonna explore their scholarship options for fall 2017.
  3. Last cycle (for fall 2016) I applied to 6-7 schools and got rejected everywhere. I applied to NYU's online program in November and got admitted and started three weeks ago. Good luck!!
  4. Ahh good luck! I was worried about all of my stats, but I was admitted and started classes last week.
  5. My closest friend from undergrad got a C in her pediatric language class this semester and is doing remediation too next semester. Don't freak about it and don't worry about what will happen if you do get another C. Just work on the remediation this semester and keep your head up. Grad school is tough, and SLP is an even tougher field. Good luck next semester!
  6. My undergrad professors told me no more than 1 page unless the school specified.
  7. Edfind through ASHA. Offhand I know ENMU does spring admission. NAU has a summers only track, if you wanted to do it that way.
  8. It is, but for the amount of support I've gotten so far and for being one of the only online programs with clinical placements where I live, it's also the only one that makes sense for me right now.
  9. Mine did not have a last 60 option, only what I received as a Communication Disorders major.
  10. Good luck! The GRE was terrifying for me too and I was kind of bummed with my stats. Let me know if I can help you at all!
  11. The SLP-A job was the only major difference on my resume and I was able to submit my Capstone paper that I completed in undergrad on post-extubation dysphagia, which I think helped too. I think NYU is more holistic than some off the other programs because my stats were low (3.4 cumulative gpa, 146 quant 152 verbal, 3.5 writing). I like NYU's application process because you work with an admissions counselor the whole time.
  12. Explain what drew you to the field. Did you/someone know work with an SLP? What areas of being an SLP are you interested in? For me, I spoke a lot about how I wanted to work with patients with dysphagia and spent most of my undergrad career researching it (Capstone paper, mock client, etc.). While you may not have experience, if you can show them why you're interested in the field and how you want to help people as an SLP, I think you stand a good chance. Good luck!!
  13. I accepted the job and then applied for my SLPA license through Arizona. I was offered the job 3 weeks before I graduated with my COMD degree. You can email me (annemariesullivan@outlook.com) if you want/need more help.
