Yeah.... But last year they didn't announce that awards were coming out until 9:30-ish am April 1st, so probably nothing to get excited about just yet.
From an email to current MIT Biology grad students (about helping recruit the new class):
The Admissions Committee decided to invite 102 students to open house to interview. These invitations went out Saturday.
I'm not 100% sure that this means no more invites will be sent out, but I suspect that it might. Sorry guys.
Just got rejected by CSBi but can't post because the captcha isn't showing up for some reason. D:
As a small interdepartmental program that admits 6-8 students a year we have had a record number of over 220 applications from highly qualified applicants like yourself this year. We regret that at this time we are unable to offer you a place in our program.
That is a 2.7 to 3.6% admit rate....
Same, same. So much hope and stress! Obsessively refreshing and can't stop jittering over it. I thought I'd be so chill compared to undergrad admissions but nooo. I hope I get an interview someplace.
I think it depends on the department. For example, last year MIT biology sent out all their interview invites in one day (at least from what we can see in the posted results) and then rejections six days later, whereas MIT BE sent them out slowly over the course of a month. D:
Ah, good to know. Well! Congratulations. Perhaps we will meet from across departments (you know, hopefully (if I get in somewhere (though I guess maybe not all interview invites have gone out! so who knows) )).
Sads. I'm sorry. Looking back I don't know that I spent enough of it on my planned grad work (just the very end)—to be honest I don't have too much planned grad work! I don't think it's a bad thing. I'm flexible.
Noooooo I'm guessing since last year they sent all the invites out on one day, and all the rejections six days later, that this is it? Do you think they space them out throughout the day, or would they have all gone out already? </3
