  1. Hey! So I am starting grad school in September and I am freaking out about clinicals. I graduated back in 2013 so it's been a while since I've been in school. I refreshed a bit with the information but still feel like I'm going to be a bit lost at first so I'm super nervous to be thrown right into clinicals. I would rather have started in the spring but Munson program unfortunately doesn't work like that. Can anyone tell me their experience with clinical studies? Do you meet with your clients on the first day or do they have you meet with the clinical instructor prior to this? Did you feel overwhelmed? Any info to set my mind a little at ease would help me so much lol thank you!
  2. Hey! I just got accepted off of the waitlist at William Paterson in NJ the other day. I already sent a deposit to another program but I would be able to commute to WPUNJ so now I am very torn since that would probably be the cheaper option. Does anyone have any information about their program? I looked up some stuff online and there isn't a lot of information on it. Thank you very much! Congrats and good luck to everyone!
  3. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows on any educational psychology classes that I can take online over the summer. I need it as a prereq for my program and did not take it in undergrad. Thank you! Any responses would be appreciated!
  4. Hi, I have a few prerequisites to take before starting my program in the Fall. I was wondering if anyone knows any easier chem or physics classes that are offered online during the summer. Also, if anyone knows of any educational psychology courses online, that would be great too! Thank you!
  5. Did anyone else receive their e-mail of missing pre-reqs today? I was basically 90% positive I was going to commit to this program but now I found out they want me taking 11 credits of pre-reqs (speech sound disorders, fluency, educational psych, and a chem/physics) , which would add on an extra semester of school. I am very disappointed, especially being that I completed my undergraduate degree in communication disorders and never thought I would have to be required to take four extra courses in grad school. Does anyone know any schools that offer these courses online? I can always take chem/physics at my local community college but the other three I am not so sure about. Thank you!
  6. Oops, Manhattan autocorrected to online, sorry for the confusion.
  7. Hi, I attended as well. They said each cohort has 25 students so there's 50 full time students in total and I think 25 in Sunday program and 25 Online. So in total, 100 students are accepted. Yes, one cohort would be start clinicals the first semester as in fall 2017. The professor said that some people feel overwhelmed and will ask to switch cohorts at times. It seems like they'll try to work with you if that is what you want since some want to start right away and are willing to switch. They didn't mention when classes would start so I'm not sure about that. Hope this helps!
  8. Hey! I got phone call yesterday afternoon informing me that I've been accepted into the College of St Rose! I am super excited because I loved the school when I visited for the interview and was extremely impressed with all of the speciality clinics they offer. I am basically 90% positive I am going to attend in the fall and wanted to find out who else will be attending with me! Good luck and congratulations to all!
  9. Hi all, I was just accepted into Adelphi (yay!) and had a question. I know it is a bigger program and at another school I interviewed at, they said bigger programs tend to use "standardized patients." I was wondering if anyone knows if they do this at Adelphi. I personally would rather work with a real patient that had an actual disorder rather than on someone just acting like they have one so you can see real life progress and results. Thank you! P.S- Good luck to everyone
  10. Hi all, I received an interview offer at Midwestern-Glendale late January. I was wondering if anybody knows if they're willing to do Skype interviews seeing as I live in New York and it would just cost so much money to fly out there. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and never got a response. Thank you!
  11. That's exactly the same predicament I was in. I am assuming you applied to Salus too? I have my Disorders of Child Language class but never took the arctic and phone so I am not sure what to do now. I am going to speak to admissions tomorrow and see what they say. I will let you know!
  12. Hello, I applied to a few graduate programs for Fall 2017 entry. One of these school students requires an articulation and phonological disorders course as a pre-req. This course wasn't offered at my undergrad. I was wondering if anyone knew of any online courses I could take that would satisfy this. Thank you!
