  1. I am looking for any advice on this topic. I will be a Master's (going PhD in third semester) student in Statistics at IU. My first semester I am supposed to TA for a course that I will be required to teach in the second semester. It will have over 100 students and it will be in a large stadium-like room. Has anyone had experiences teaching such large classes? What would you recommend I do to keep everyone interested and how can I make time for grading and lesson plans and office hours with that many students?
  2. I have three children. 7, 3, and a newborn in February 2017. I will be attending IU Bloomington in the fall this year for my PhD in statistics. I have my wife and kids to support during graduate school so it will be very challenging and stressful but I can also see how this will be a great experience for us all. I have already completed some of my master's in applied statistics with these three children so I am accustomed to most of the stress it causes. It's definitely not impossible.
  3. PhD in Statistics starting this fall at IUB. I went there for part of my undergrad. I currently live 2 hours away from B-town but my wife, 3 kids, and I are moving up there on July 23rd. We leased a townhome at Woodbridge over by the college mall side of campus.
  4. Applying to Where: (Color use here is welcome) School - Indiana University Bloomington - Statistical Science - Accepted to MS with TA 18.3k and health insurance, told I will convert to PhD after first two semesters- Attending School - University of Louisville - Applied Mathematics - Accepted, no funding info yet School - University of Memphis - Statistics - Submitted/Pendin School - University of Missouri - St. Louis - Computational Mathematics - Submitted/Pending School - University of Kentucky - Statistics - Accepted, no funding info yet
  5. I applied for the PhD in Statistical Science at Indiana University Bloomington, but got accepted into the MSSS instead and they said I'd move to the PhD after the core courses are finished. I was offered a TA. So yes they are offered depending on which university you get admitted to and depending on their needs.
