  1. I got my admissions decision from NYU on March 2nd last year, so I assume it will be a similar date this year.
  2. When you go on a campus visit, what are the most important questions to ask so you get the full picture? What do you ask graduate students vs. professors? One of the schools I applied to wants to fly me out, but I don’t want to seem like an idiot when I go, and I want to make sure I fully understand what being a grad student there will be like
  3. They offered me more money!!! Thanks for the suggestion. I think I can actually make my dream program work!
  4. I would love to know people’s opinions on this. So I got into my dream program and am going to be working with my perfect POI. However, they are not offering very much funding. Definitely not enough to survive on. Is it worth it to go to the perfect program and maybe have to take out loans or choose a different less perfect program with full funding?
  5. Did anyone else apply to University of Colorado, Boulder? Heard anything?
  6. Has anyone been accepted for a PhD with tuition only? Is it doable to get through a PhD with only tuition covered?
  7. Hi! I've been accepted into a masters program in Anthropology and I'm deciding whether or not to attend. I want to eventually work in the museum field in curation, research, or repatriation. I was hoping someone could give me some insight into whether getting a job in the field is realistic with just a masters degree and not a PhD? Thanks!
  8. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!! My POI is putting me in contact with some grad students from the school where I was accepted and I'm wondering what sorts of questions I should ask them? I'm going to be asking about funding, but I want to make sure that I get all of the information I need to make an informed decision. Does anyone have any questions they would ask/have asked?
  9. I applied to a variety of PhD and masters programs this season. I only got into my last choice masters program and I'm trying to figure out whether I should go. I didn't get full funding, but I did get some. I'd definitely prefer to just got straight into a PhD program rather than get a masters first, but I'm thinking I may have a better chance to actually get into a PhD program if I have a masters. The program is an okay fit for me, but I'm trying to figure out if I would be better off just applying next season. I have a lot of archaeology and museum experience, but I'm applying for sociocultural programs. Any advice would be super appreciated!
