  1. Thanks everyone! I should have clarified that Chicago isn't specifically where I want to end up. I just meant cities in general, some that are a little smaller in size too. However, most of the cities that I am looking at do have multiple schools in the area, so your answers were helpful about the externships. I guess I will start looking into other options!
  2. What kind of computer is everyone getting (or already have) for grad school? I have a Macbook Pro that's four years old, but I'm wondering if I should get a new computer for grad school.
  3. That's true! I was definitely happy that they didn't ask me to pay, but part of me felt it didn't seem as official. But the online portal still congratulated me for accepting the offer, so I guess that's good enough!
  4. Has anyone accepted their offer yet? I did this weekend and they never asked me to pay one of those deposits. I just thought that was strange because most schools do. I feel like it makes the acceptance more official when you pay!
  5. Has anyone had to take aural rehabilitation online during the summer before starting grad school? The school I'm going to attend offers it in the first year spring semester, but I think I'd rather take it online and make for a lighter course load that spring semester. If you have taken it online, are there any certain colleges that you've taken it through and have good experiences with?
  6. I haven't heard anything either! I'm pretty sure I read on their website that about half of grad students receive some type of funding but I'm not sure if that applies to speech or just the school in general!
  7. I attended a few interviews in the past couple of weeks and dressed business casual. Now I've been invited to a couple of accepted student open houses. How should we dress for these open houses? At first I figured I would dress similar to how I did for my interviews, but one of the schools said they are having a pizza party, so I'm assuming that means more casual clothing.
  8. I just got that email too! I have heard anything about funding, but I hope we will hear back soon!
  9. I was just accepted to JMU today and I think it's my top choice based off of information online. Does anyone know if they offer an accepted students day before we have to submit our deposit? I read on their website that they don't offer individual tours, but I wasn't able to attend their open houses that were held a few months ago. I would love to visit the program before deciding, because it seems like a great school. Thanks!
  10. Does anyone have opinions on either of the schools/cities? The programs are both ranked #30, so I was wondering what makes them different.
  11. Has anyone else been accepted to Ohio U? Has anyone thought about making a Facebook page yet? I am attending the Accepted Students Day in a few weeks and can't wait!
