21-22. Straight out of undergrad. I firmly believe the added maturity would allow one to extract so much more value out of the course - both in terms of networking and learning. I remember attending a major conference last year with my Prof. and a few other colleagues. Us younger students huddled together whilst 'older' guys were mature enough to network and socialise.

Hi. I've just completed an LLM by coursework (A+ grade for minor dissertation) and have some reservations about how to proceed. I aspire to a career in legal research (academia) and would appreciate advice from anyone here, regardless of discipline. Would it be preferable to pursue a dissertation based LLM prior to a Phd (I have decent research ideas for both)? I feel it would serve as a bridging between my current station and the vigorous intensity and commitment needed for a Phd. Further, it would also afford me some time to, hopefully, publish more and to modify my thesis proposal as well. My supervisor has encouraged me to jump straight into a doctorate but I have some strong reservation. Please advise. Thanks.
