  1. Anyone have any idea how long principals are given to accept/decline their award? Like a week or something? I got Alternate for an ETA in Central Asia for the second year running which is kinda crushing lol. I figure though if anyone declines I'd know pretty soon if I move up (cause there are usually only a couple slots for the country I applied for)--anyone have any idea how long principals have to decide?
  2. Hi Monsieur Venus, I noticed no one had answered yet. This is the only info I can find on Fulbright-provided health insurance, you may have already seen: https://us.fulbrightonline.org/current-fulbrighters/health-benefits-summary I would assume you'd be covered by Fulbright's version rather than TAPIF's version? Anyone have any ideas?
  3. Ugh, I hope not, I did not hear about a missing transcript Waiting sucks!!! Sending good vibes to everyone.
  4. Thanks so much!! It's so gorgeous & such a fascinating place, I really hope it works out. Fingers crossed for you and Russia! Did you apply for ETA or research?
  5. Longtime lurker, semi-finalist for country in Central Asia, had my interview last week and felt decent about it! It's my second time applying and I was an alternate last time, so I'm really hoping to get it! Sending lots of good wishes to everyone applying, hopefully they're punctual with their notifications.
  6. Hi, I have a question--so I'm an alternate for an ETA to Tajikistan, and just received a job offer that I'd like to accept, but I'm trying to get in touch with the Fulbright people to see if they can give me any more information. I was notified about a month ago, so this week would be the most likely week to hear back, so I've sort of been waiting for that, but also trying to call Fulbright office/the person in charge of South/Central Asia to see if they might be able to confirm/deny that all principal candidates have accepted their award. I don't know that they'll be able to give me that info, but I'm hoping! However I haven't been able to get in touch with the person in charge of South/Central Asia and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for how I might contact them. I've called several times Monday and today and left one voicemail, but don't want to leave more...email is my next route, but that will take a long time and I really want to let my job offer know soon. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Frustrated
  7. Hi everyone, been stalking this forum for a while and heard back for Tajikistan ETA today--alternate, ugh. It's been really comforting to read all your guys' messages and hear other people stressing too!! Best of luck to those still waiting, and congrats to those of you who've been selected!! I'll be waiting in alternate purgatory w/all the other alternates, would love to commiserate! Also, wanted to mention that my email subject line didn't include an A or anything indicating my status! That was kinda nice, tbh, cause I wasn't expecting it!
